The design of the device is almost exactly the same as Samsung's latest flagship, including a curved screen on both edges. The principal departure is the S-Pen stylus housing on the bottom-right hand edge of the device. However, the images also show a USB Type C charging port, as opposed to the MicroUSB port on previous devices. This will confer benefits such as increased data transfer and charging speeds.A cluster of sensors at the top of the screen has also lent more weight to rumours that the Note 6 will feature an iris scanner for biometric identification, meaning users will be able to unlock their phone just be looking at it.It's still unclear whether the Note 6 will launch with a regular version as well as a curved-edge variant - as the Galaxy S6 and S7 did - but previous form would suggest that the company will opt to release the two different models simultaneously.

Confirmation of all of these details is not likely to come until IFA 2016, which will take place in early September.Much to the dismay of the Note range's devoted fanbase, the previous iteration never made it to UK shores. Thankfully, Samsung appears to have seen the error of its ways, and will reportedly be releasing the Galaxy Note 6 in the UK.It's tipped for a US launch, according to prolific and reliable leakster Evan Blass, on 15 August. There's no word on when it will arrive over here, but we'd expect it to be available no more than a month from then.Pricing rumours are currently thin on the ground. However, based on previous Note device prices (discounting the import-only Note 5), we can safely assume that the Note 6 will retail for somewhere in the region of £650.

In recent years, Samsung has ditched Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors in favour of its own Exynos chips, making Note 6 hardware predictions a slightly tricky prospect. There are conflicting rumours about whether or not the Note 6 will continue this trend, and some suggest that the Note 6 will have different components in different territories, as Samsung has done with other devices. The Galaxy S7 came with a Snapdragon 820 CPU in the US and China, while every other territory got the Exynos 8890. The reasons behind this are unclear but whatever they were, there's nothing to suggest that they've changed.

With that in mind, we'd expect the UK version of the Note 6 to come packed with a Samsung Exynos CPU, and most likely a faster one than the S7's 8890.Rumours have also suggested that the Note 6 will come with a colossal 6GB of RAM. The Note range has always included some of the most technically capable phones around, but that's still a staggering figure. For those following along at home, that's more than many laptops have. It's not entirely implausible, though. The company recently unveiled its own 6GB module of mobile DRAM, so this actually sounds very likely indeed.I've got to hand it to both Apple and Razer; they both know how to make a beautiful, iconic piece of machinery. On one hand, you have the MacBook Pro, whose silvery profile with rounded edges and backlit, half-eaten fruit emblem has launched a cadre of pale imitations.
If not for its sable CNC-aluminum chassis and a couple of deliberate-but-subtle design choices, the Razer Blade would also fall into this clone trap. Outside of the color, the gentle ridges and captivating three-snake symbol on the lid do just enough to help the Blade stand on its own.

The MacBook Pro has a solid array of ports that can support a small army of peripherals, including a couple of 4K monitors if you're so inclined. The laptop features two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a SDXC card slot and a pair of Thunderbolt 2 ports, the latter of which allow you to perform superfast file transfers and connect to high-resolution external displays.

Console hardware sales are down 20 percent year over year for Q1, based on IHS data. However, the Omen line "is positioned to do respectably with gamers," Arrington told TechNewsWorld. "Given the interest VR has generated in more complex and immersive experiences, the bet by PC companies on this segment does have the potential to pay off."HP "is trying to hit the sweet spot between console gamers who want a simple instant experience with high-quality gaming easily and quickly accessible, and the enthusiast PC gamer who wants to build their own gaming rig," Arrington said. "This is the gamer who wants to use VR but doesn't have the budget, time or interest in building their own specialized gaming PC."

The Omen line seems to be competing on price point, design and customizability, "which are all important points to that consumer in between the console and enthusiast PC gamer," she noted.Further, the gaming machines can also serve as everyday work machines, HP's Nash pointed out."Our customers ... don't have a notebook for every day and then a separate gaming notebook," he said. "We are most pleased about being able to provide our customers good value on performance per dollar, as well as offering designs that are a bit more mature than your typical gaming fare."

Last year, Asus released an absolutely mental 17-inch liquid-cooled gaming laptop and now it has an updated model complete with a new RGB mechanical keyboard and two GPUs for even more graphical performance. From the outside, there aren't too many apparent changes. The GX800 looks almost completely identical to its 17-inch predecessor and the same goes for its liquid-cooling base. The only difference you'll really notice on the outside of the machine is the new multi-colored keyboard, which allows you to customize and tweak the keyboard backlight on a per key basis. What's more Asus has introduced its MechTAG (Mechanical Tactile Advanced Gaming) to give it a mechanical feel. There's also anti-ghosting technology to prevent any of your keystrokes from falling through the cracks when inputting multi-key commands.

Now the bigger changes are on the inside with hardware upgrades. The ROG GX700 already seems plenty powerful with a desktop-grade Nvidia GTX 980, however, the GX800 introduces a second GPU along with Intel Core i7 K-series processors. At a Computex 2016 press event, we got to play games at a silky smooth frame frame rate even at 4K. This is largely thanks to the GX800's GPU cores being unlocked when attached to its liquid-cooled base.

Asus ROG GX800 review
Asus calls this Thermo Hydro Clocking, and aside from the pretty name, it allows the system to fully tap into the power of its Nvidia GTX 980s and reach a 1,428MHz frequency without overheating.

Beyond the graphics chips, the liquid-cooling system also allows the rest of the GX800 to reach its full potential including. The processor can be clocked up to 4.4GHz and the memory can fully max out at 2,800MHz.

Asus ROG GX800 review
According to Asus' figures, the GX800's second GPU essentially doubles the graphical performance the machine compared to its predecessor. And that's only with two Nvidia GTX 980s, the numbers could be become astronomical with a pair of Titan X-beating Nvidia GTX 1080 chips when it inevitably comes to laptops.Of course, for all this power, the Asus ROG GX800 eats up just as much energy. The laptop actually comes with two 330-watt power supplies meaning this 'gaming laptop' uses as much energy as a mid-range PC tower.

One of my biggest qualms with the Asus ROG GX700 was the fact that it's hard to categorize it as a gaming laptop when it requires the liquid-cooling dock to really game. The GX800 doesn't solve this problem and instead pours on with more over the top hardware and extreme power needs that will undoubtedly destroy its potential battery.

I personally love the absolute ridiculous nature of it, but this isn't a gaming desktop for the meek or average gamers. I also have to see how well it does in benchmarks and other gaming tests before I can recommend it to hardcore gamers or the most extreme power users of gaming laptops.
What is a hands on review?
'Hands on reviews' are a journalist's first impressions of a piece of kit based on spending some time with it. It may be just a few moments, or a few hours. The important thing is we have been able to play with it ourselves and can give you some sense of what it's like to use, even if it's only an embryonic view.
